Policy Framework on MSME Data Collection: A Guide for Gender Inclusive Finance

In many economies, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are seen as the “engines of growth”, and many of them are planning their post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
However, the lack of gender transformative policies and financial services provisioning in the MSME sector are inhibiting women’s participation. These issues still need to be addressed in a holistic and informed manner to ensure transformative outcomes.

The objective of this policy framework is to provide guidance on MSMEs finance data collection with a specific focus on gender issues and disaggregated data for women-led MSMEs.
