Africa Value Chain Financing – was the 3rd AFRACA AgriBank Forum for Sub-Sahara Africa. It was organized and sponsored by AFRACA and FAO in partnership with AFC and DrumNet and it took place in Kenya from the 16th to the 19th of October 2007. The main objective of the Forum was “to enhance awareness on successful models and approaches for using the resources and linkages of the value chain to increase financial service provision and efficiency to rural producers, traders and agribusinesses.
The Africa Forum brought together decision makers of financial entities with activities in the Agricultural sector, non financial companies working in the sector (promoters, producers, processors, exporters, marketers, and input suppliers), government authorities and other supporting international organizations. It looked at lessons, trends and innovations that are happening in Africa and other parts of the world to improve accessibility of financial services by the rural poor, mainly farmers, through effective value chain linked service delivery mechanisms.
