Given the growing importance of inclusive market systems development and questions about how it can promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, the SEEP Network and UN Women have teamed up to bring you a learning series entitled “From Theory to Practice: Women’s Economic Empowerment in Inclusive Market Systems Development.” The learning series will take place over the first half of 2015, bringing you the chance to closely engage with key experts on conceptual and practical issues around women’s economic empowerment in inclusive market systems
The first session, The Theory Behind the Approach: Women’s Economic Empowerment in Inclusive Market Systems Development, will examine the implications for women’s economic empowerment in inclusive market development based on a paper released by the USAID Leveraging Economic Opportunities project, presented by the report’s authors. An expert commentator from the International Labour Organization will then discuss potential implications. Ample time will be left for questions.
