IMFx: Financial Development and Financial Inclusion

This course outlines the common ways countries develop robust financial sectors, ranging from banks to equity markets. You will learn how to read indicators that gauge financial development and financial inclusion, and how to measure their distinct macroeconomic impacts. You will also understand the relationship between financial inclusion, banks, capital markets, small and medium-sized enterprises, households, and the fast-changing world of fintech. Additionally, the course will explore policies and strategies that encourage financial development while limiting risks. Join us to learn how financial sectors can become more expansive and inclusive. This course is part of the IMF’s online learning program, which receives financial support from the Government of Japan.
