Webinar
Thursday, May 12, 2016
You are invited to join us for a webinar on the World Bank Group’s newly released report, Enabling the Business of Agriculture 2016: Comparing regulatory good practices. The webinar will unpack insights from the report, which compares results collected in 2015 from 40 countries in six regions. The measured indicators cover seed, fertilizer machinery, finance, transport and markets. Two overarching themes—environmental sustainability and gender—are also explored so that the indicators being developed encourage inclusive and sustainable practices. Enabling the Business of Agriculture aims to promote smart regulations that ensure safety and quality control as well as efficient regulatory processes that support thriving agribusinesses. The project identifies and analyzes legal barriers to conducting the business of agriculture and quantifies the transaction costs related to dealing with government regulations. The goal of EBA is to provide governments, private sector, civil society, academia and international institutions with clearly defined good practices that can inform policymaking and trigger regulatory reforms based on examples set by other countries.
